This powerful new moon has massive implications for the personal and collective, as it contacts nearly the entire solar system, highlighting opportunities for deep, earth shattering shifts.

Today’s New Moon in Capricorn at 28 degrees touches nearly every planet (other than Jupiter, but even that could be considered if using wider orbs). To spell it out, this New Moon is right next to (i.e conjunct) Mars (planet of anger, conflict/war) and Mercury (planet of communication/thinking), while also connecting with Pluto (planet of transformation) and Venus (planet of relationships). The moon also makes harmonious connections with Uranus (planet of liberation and chaos), Neptune (planet of spirituality/boundaryless) and Saturn (planet of limits and structures). Wow! That’s nearly the entire solar system. In other words, this is a powerhouse New Moon with the manifestation power to alter lives and communities drastically and permanently.
For broader context, the last week or so (even since the new year), has been an emotional doozy. We were lost–meandering–on uncertain paths (2 Hellenistic void of course moons) with minimal sense of grounding and footing. There has been chaos and it has been challenging to hold it emotionally or feel a sense of clarity on how to move forward. This uncertainty has led us, collectively, to ponder...
“How do I want to spend my time and energy? What old structures, systems, and ways of asserting my willpower have been supportive and which ones have not? Which systems have I been supporting that have been void of connection with the emotional pain of the collective? Where have I been dissociating to protect myself from embracing the wounds of the heart? Where and how am I ready to take more heart-aligned action in my life?”
(Pro tip: Use these questions as journal prompts!)
We have also been recognizing the ways we have been disconnected from our bodies and sense of groundedness. We are being asked to wake up and root into the physical, material world. No more sleep walking. It’s time to lean into collective action and community.
As the moon approaches Pluto and Venus in Aquarius, we are being asked to transform our relationships to align with Universal Truth. We are ready to set intentions that prioritize relational challenges of the collective. We are ready to set intentions for the future that get us out of our inward hovels and join the world with integrity aligned action. This is the energy of revolution and transformation–it’s time to get to work.

Looking ahead…
New moons are a time of planting seeds–trusting that your dreams will bear fruit at the perfect, aligned moment. This is also the last new moon before we approach eclipse season (mid-February), which ushers in sudden beginnings and endings related to collective action, technology and healing past wounds and traumas (depending on your chart).
The eclipses are an energetic clearing, so we can make more space for the seeds we plant at this particular new moon. Eclipses can bring chaos, so it is important to stay grounded, so you can best weather the storm. Trusting that your intentions are growing behind the scenes is crucial to not getting lost in torrents of fear and doubt. Set intentions, release, and trust. Take aligned action when opportunity presents, but do not force–allow flow.
