The Saturn/Neptune Conjunction at 0 degrees of Aries ushers in a new era of self advocacy. We are learning the battles that we are willing to fight and how this connects to our role in the greater collective. We are learning to identify our needs and imagine solutions for greater Awakening.

The Context:
This astrological configuration has caused immense chatter online. Whenever we see two outer planetary bodies (that are such slow movers) conjoin at a critical degree point (29 degrees and 0 degrees of a sign aka the transition point), we, as astrologers pay attention. This conjunction is especially notable because the planets are coming together at 0 degrees Aries—the ultimate transition point, because it is the beginning of the zodiac. When we think of the zodiac as symbolism for the life cycle, Aries is the beginning of life, the creative and sometimes violent process of birth. Our first experience an autonomous being is the tension of squeezing through the vaginal birth canal, which can be uncomfortable, unfamiliar, and painful. We must fight to reach our sense of separateness (aka a separate corporeal being).
Tension—fighting--separateness—these are all Aries terms and archetypes. The sign that comes before Aries is Pisces (the era from where we are emerging), which represents the end of the life cycle—Pisces is the archetype of collective consciousness—the space and place we go to as we reach the end of life. When we die, we unite with all that is. For the spiritually inclined, this could be that we unite with the universal energy that unites us all. For the atheists, we decompose and rot into the earth, thereby “uniting” with something greater than ourselves, whether consciously or not. Pisces is the blurring of the boundaries, the collective womb where we dissolve, come apart (death, transition, change), and then softly reform cells and limbs in the container of another (aka the womb) to craft the separateness. We are not our own person until we leave the attachment to the other and are declared separate out in the world. This is the transition point we are working with—from womb to birth, from death to rebirth. These are the themes that we can hold as we move forward.
Looking at the planets involved, we have Saturn and Neptune.

Saturn--the planet of boundaries, limits, restrictions
Neptune—the planet of boundarylessness, illusion/delusion, dreams, “the limit does not exist”

How do we combine two planets that seem to have contradictory meanings? We embrace the contradiction, we embrace the nuance. Before exploring further, it is important to note that Saturn is debilitated in Aries, so Saturn is not as comfortable here as it is in other signs. Essentially the only archetype that Aries and Saturn shares is the “separateness”, but they differ everywhere else. Saturn is cold, limiting, harsh, discerning. Aries energy is hot, expansive, creative, fiery, impulsive, and rash.
Neptune in Aries is also uncomfortable, because Aries energy is antithetical to Aries energy in its heat and separateness, whereas Neptune is cool and uniting; however, both energies are creative and allow for expansiveness.
The Alchemy:
The Akashic readers I follow (check out Akashic Resources!) have been naming that we are transitioning into an era of Sovereignty, and that the souls that are not aligned with this soul learning will be departing. This conjunction speaks exactly to this transition. We are moving towards a Divine Individuality. We can no longer depend on the old systems and structures that supported us before. We are ushering in time where we create new systems and communities that support our needs and creative desires. However, this is tense—it is uncomfortable. There is mourning and grieving of the old ways of being. We need to make space for the pain of this loss.
We are stepping into a time where we need to take responsibility for meeting our individual needs and building communities of like mind. Aries is the sign of war—contrast—tension. We will not be aligned in collective unity at this time—we can find unity and connection with those that align with our unique spark, while accepting that there is division amongst us on a larger scale. This tension is needed, because we need to know where I end and you begin—we need this to create.
From a metaphysical perspective, creation is a collaborative process between our conscious and subconscious minds. We consciously create desires and our subconscious minds opens pathways and doorways that magnetically draw opportunities to you to fulfill your desires. This is a potent time for the Universe to bring us our dreams. We have to dream to call it in. Neptune in Aries may bring our sacred rage (Aries connects with themes of anger) to the surface—use your anger to discover the underlying need you have that isn’t being met. Identify the need and imagine a world where that need is fulfilled. The imagination will allow doorways to open. The next step is to trust, because Saturn will create challenges, tension, and delays with your creative desires to be made manifest. Saturn also asks you to find courage to fight for your needs and desires. Instead of getting stuck in wars that aren’t yours to fight, fight the battle of fulfilling your dreams, needs, and desires. It will be worth it, in due time.
TLDR: When you put in the hard work and trust that things will come to fruition in the right moment, you will have exactly what you need.
